Young people from Latvia and Greece explore civil society work during Shadow Day 

On April 1, the Civic Alliance - Latvia (CAL) hosted an inspiring Shadow Day with participants from Latvia and Greece, including Ķekava Secondary School student Roberts Zemturis and exchange students Aikaterini Mandilari and Georgia Kaponi. 

The day began with a visit to the Latvian National Centre for Culture, where discussions focused on strengthening youth civic competencies. Participants then learned about CAL’s work and the role of civil society in Latvia, gaining insights from Director Kristīne Zonberga and Communications Specialist Elizabete Sēle. 

The young people also took part in hands-on activities, creating interview questions, filming staff interviews, and editing videos. They ended the day by presenting their work, showing creativity and enthusiasm. 

CAL values young people’s strong interest in civil society and their active engagement in public life.
