Civic Alliance – Latvia engages in Brussels activities in March

In March, representatives of Latvian civil society actively participated in international events in Brussels. From March 2 to 5, a delegation attended Civil Society Week 2026, discussing democracy, resilience, and social cohesion. The event, organized by the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), brought together over 1,300 participants from across Europe.

From March 23 to 25, LPA Director Kristīne Zonberga took part in a “Team Europe” visit, meeting EU institutions to discuss security, the economy, the EU budget, migration, and support for Ukraine. Meetings included MEPs Roberts Zīle, Ivars Ijabs, and Mārtiņš Staķis, as well as EC Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis and EC Secretary-General Ilze Juhansone.

Meanwhile, LPA Public Affairs Specialist Ance Mālkalna participated in a European Parliament event on the next EU Multiannual Financial Framework, strengthening dialogue with civil society and exchanging experiences with colleagues from other countries.
