The Civic Alliance – Latvia is preparing for the launch of the Civil Society Fund in Latvia 

Together with partners from 15 countries, we will use a unified EEA/Norway Grants platform to support programme implementation and cooperation with project partners. 

Since October 2025, when the Civic Alliance of Latvia and the Latvian Rural Forum won the right to plan and implement the programme in Latvia, intensive preparation work has been taking place behind the scenes. The fund will support initiatives that strengthen civil society, democracy, the rule of law, and human rights, continuing the work of the Active Citizens Fund. 

An important step in the preparation process is the introduction of a unified and transparent information platform for programme administration and cooperation with project implementers. 

As part of this work, we welcomed Gunnars Gardarsons, Nathan Ricks, and Giovanni Bastianello from the EEA/Norway Financial Mechanism Office in Brussels, who introduced the new shared platform that will soon provide information about the Civil Society Fund in Latvia and future updates. 

Together with our partners and colleagues from the Latvian Rural Forum, we are grateful for the trust placed in us and look forward to working with civil society organizations across Latvia.
