CAL General Assembly elects new Board and adopts several important decisions

On Friday, March 15, the General Assembly of the The Civic Alliance – Latvia (CAL) members approved the amendments to the CAL Statutes, the revised version of the Membership Policy, the organisation's Annual Report 2023, as well as elected the new CAL Board. 

" This year, the Civic Alliance – Latvia will celebrate its twentieth anniversary since the organization's founding. This milestone signifies a new phase in CAL's endeavors, wherein we uphold our core values, modernize our activities, and advocate for a legal and social framework that aligns with civil society's interests. The revisions to the Statutes and the updated Membership Policy, endorsed at the General Assembly, exemplify the modifications we are incorporating into CAL's operations - we are evolving with the times and persistently enhancing our efforts to more effectively fulfill our mission " says Kristīne Zonberga, Director of the Civic Alliance – Latvia. 

The CAL Board for the next two years will be composed of Agnese Frīdenberga (senior researcher and lawyer at the Centre for Public Policy PROVIDUS, author and co-author of several national and international studies), Inga Birzgale (President of the National Youth Council of Latvia, project manager of the YOU+ association), Miks Muižarājs (founder and board member of the association With World Experience in Latvia , World Bank Analyst and Operations Specialist in the Pacific Region), 

Inese Tauriņa, the Director of Transparency International Latvia - Delna, was re-elected to the CAL Board

Larisa Jaņina (Podskočaja), a Board Member of the association "Russian Voice for Latvia", will continue to serve on the CAL Board.
