The “Latvian Platform for Development Cooperation” and the Civic Alliance - Latvia are conducting a survey until 29 September on the national capacity of NGOs to engage in crisis response at national level. The survey can be filled in here.
A national response is understood as 1) the capacity of an organisation to respond to a crisis situation by providing its resources on a large scale (e.g. premises for hosting more than 100 displaced persons), 2) the capacity to provide services in a specialised field anywhere in Latvia (e.g. providing specialised transport for people with disabilities). Organisations working at local level and on a smaller scale than the above are invited to contact the Civil Protection Commission of their municipality about their involvement in crisis prevention.
The information gathered will be passed on to the Ministry of the Interior and the State Fire and Rescue Service. In case of any doubts, please contact inese.vaivare@lapas.lv.
The information has been prepared with the financial support of the Society Integration Foundation from the Latvian state budget. The Civic Alliance - Latvia is responsible for the content of the information.
