Preparations for the international conference

On September 11–12, the international conference "Partnerships for Democracy, Development, and Peace" took place in Riga, within the framework of the Latvian Presidency of the Council of Europe. The conference discussed strengthening cooperation between civil society and decision-makers, focusing on the challenges of democracy, development, and peace and their interlinkages, as well as topics such as the impact of artificial intelligence on democracy, international, national, and local partnerships between citizens and the state, good governance practices, and activism.

The conference was held in two parts in a panel discussion format with a side event on September 11 and the main conference program on September 12. The conference was conducted in English. It was streamed live on the CAL Facebook page on September 11 and on the Saeima website on September 12. More information can be found here.
