Let us celebrate Miķelis Valters Day by discussing the future of democracy

During the Democracy Week, on May 7 from 15.00-18.00, the Civic Alliance - Latvia, in cooperation with the European Movement in Latvia and the voluntary aid movement #paliec-mājās, organizes Miķelis Valters Day - discussions about the future of democracy, where we will jointly seek answers in regard to in what kind of society we want to live in, what is human resilience and how is it developed and what is the role of civil society in democracy. The discussions will be opened by the President of Latvia Egils Levits.

The discussion cycle is designed to honor history, but with a view to the future, a vision of what kind of society we want to live in. Discussions will be moderated by: Kristīne Zonberga - director of the Civic Alliance - Latvia, Inese Vaivare - Head of the association LAPAS and one of the founders of the voluntary movement #paliec-mājās, as well as Andris Gobiņš - president of the European Movement in Latvia.

Discussions will take place online, on the Facebook page of the Civic Alliance - Latvia, where we also invite you to follow the latest information. Every resident of Latvia is invited to participate in the discussions. You can find out more about the discussion program here.
