How does the Timeout meotde change conversations? Lessons from Cyprus
29.10.2024

Last week, CAL Director Kristīne Zonberga took part in a study trip to Cyprus organised by the Active citizens fund, where together with representatives of Latvian and Cypriot NGOs she learned how to conduct and apply the Timeout-dialouge method in activities that promote intercultural dialogue. The method was presented by representatives of DOTS Foundation for an Open Society Ieva Morica and Egita Prāma, who offered an inspiring perspective on how this approach can change communication.

Timeout-dialouge is a structured conversation method that promotes participation and cooperation between people with different perspectives and backgrounds. Originating in Finland, it encourages open and honest discussions where everyone has the opportunity to express their thoughts and feelings.

More information on the Timeout-dialouge method can be found here.

The workshop was supported by the Active citizens fund.
