Civic Alliance – Latvia represents the common interests of civil society, including associations and foundations, based on the fundamental freedoms of democracy and human rights, therefore, any organization and individual can join the CAL if they support the values of the CAL and stand up for an active civil society. All natural or legal persons wishing to become members of the CAL must meet at least the following conditions:

- Registered organization or active citizen;

- Embodies the mission, values, and vision of the CAL, and adheres to the Code of Ethics for Associations and Foundations developed by the CAL.


Therefore, the decision to become a member of the Civic Alliance - Latvia must be rational, convincing and deliberately made. Before filling in the application, we invite you to get acquainted with the statutes, strategy and code of ethics of the association.


How to become part of the CAL family?

1. Get acquainted with the CAL statutes, goals, values, code of ethics of associations and foundations

2. Fill in the online application form on the CAL website

3. After submitting the application, you will receive a confirmation that the application has been received;

4. The CAL Board will review the application, including assessing your motivation (it usually takes up to three weeks);

5. Get a response from CAL:

a. If the decision of the CAL Board is positive, you will receive a confirmation e-mail and additional information about your opportunities as a member.

b. If the decision of the CAL Board is postponed due to uncertainties, you will receive an e-mail inviting you to provide additional information or an invitation to the next meeting of the Board to introduce yourself or the represented organization in person.

c. If the decision of the CAL Board is negative, you will receive an e-mail explaining why such a decision has taken place. The decision can be challenged within 2 weeks of receipt, if you apply to the Board, asking the Board to clarify the reason for the refusal or asking the Board to re-examine the application by providing additional necessary information.
